The Challenge

Action Against Hunger, dedicated to combating hunger and malnutrition, operates globally to provide emergency aid and sustainable solutions to hunger. With a mission to save lives and build resilient communities, they required a robust platform to manage feedback from various channels effectively.

The Vision  

The goal was to develop a unified communication system to handle feedback from live calls, SMSs, voice messages, WhatsApp, and emails. This system is needed to ensure that all feedback is promptly and accurately routed to the appropriate departments, streamlining the feedback process and improving response times. Action Against Hunger’s extensive work in nearly 50 countries underscored the need for an efficient communication system to support their efforts.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic collaborated with Action Against Hunger to develop a Twilio Flex platform tailored to their needs. This platform supports multi-channel communication, allowing the head office to efficiently handle feedback from various sources. Built with Azure, JavaScript, Node.js, React Native, ReactJS, and Twilio, it ensures a robust and scalable solution.

The platform features centralized feedback management, real-time handling, and efficient routing, ensuring every piece of feedback reaches the appropriate destination promptly. This solution significantly enhances the organization’s ability to manage and respond to feedback, improving overall communication and operational efficiency.

The Mobile Interface Challenge Summarized

Billions of users own a smartphone, making mobile apps highly preferable when running a business. Their portability is the essential value brought to the market. As the easiest bridge to the physical world for the end-user, mobile apps can also be challenging to build, especially for IoT enterprises. As IoT is a fairly new industry, it has specific, and sometimes unknown, protocols to follow. If developers are not experienced, they have to play with trial and error until virtually seamless, which is time-consuming and costly. Security concerns should also be considered both in the front-end and back-end.

The Vision Behind the App

TAP, by SDS Industries, is a commercially available consumer kiln controller that enables the glass or ceramic artist to immediately start programming and operating their kiln. This controller is designed to take all the guesswork out of firing schedule creation, modification, execution, and monitoring. However, the company aimed to incorporate a GUI to this advanced service, and specifically they wanted to leverage it with a mobile app.

They reached out to Scopic and communicated their ideas with our best experts in the field.

The Scopic Solution

The controller was developed by SDS Industries themselves, and they provided us the Backend logic, so that we could reuse it. Scopic’s frontend experts designed and concepted the entire Mobile user interface for a cross-platform app implementation. Also we worked on a whole set of backend improvements to adjust to the IoT environment. The service includes these features:

The mobile version works for both Android and IOS and simulates very closely the functionalities and features that are available on the controller. This user-friendly interface enables immediate out of the box use.

The Idea Behind the App

The founder and owner of Recipe IQ had a vision: to give home cooks more control over their family’s health by easily extracting the nutritional information from the image of ANY recipe. He wanted to empower anyone and everyone to eat healthier meals, by taking the mystery out of a recipe’s ingredients.

The Scopic Solution

RecipeIQ was built by the Scopic development team as a mobile app that is compatible with both iOS and Android. The application allows for the extraction of all the nutrition facts from print and online recipes. Additionally, users can not only scan/take photos of recipes but also add their own recipes. It pulls ingredients to calculate their combined nutritional values, using an advanced database search algorithm.

Scopic’s team also introduced an additional database to allow users to add custom ingredients and improve the accuracy of nutritional calculations. This innovative recipe analyzer app helps home cooks maintain a balanced diet, and empowers dieters to cook with confidence.

The Vision Behind the App

To understand if behavioral improvements are being made, it is important to gather and analyze the data based on responses made by the child. If the chosen strategies are not working, therapists may need to fine-tune the program, so the child begins to improve.

Accel envisioned an application that would automate the data collection and analysis processes, as well as allow therapists to write custom ABA programs that help children progress. To implement their vision, they turned to Scopic.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic developed Accel, an intuitive, audit-proof platform to help elevate ABA therapy practices everywhere. Accel allows users to create custom data collection forms, analyze data with graphs and progress summary, and review notes that summarize clients’ response to intervention.
This mobile application also helps therapists take a wide range of data, including: correct/incorrect, prompt level, task analysis, ABC data, interval recording, celeration, and more.
Accel’s session note templates capture quantitative and qualitative data and allow users to create comprehensive session notes, ensuring clients stay compliant audit-proof.

The Voter Registration Application Challenge

Americans are known for being active participants in both local and national elections. However, in the past registering to vote has been a hassle for first-time voters. The challenge then becomes how to create an accessible application that allows US citizens to register to vote.

The Vision Behind the App

The vision behind Register 2 Vote was to build a cross-platform mobile application for iOS and Android allowing users to register for voting in the local and national US elections straight from their mobile device. This simplified registration process would in turn increase voter participation rates. With this in mind, Scopic developed the architecture and UX/UI design to be intuitive and attractive on different mobile devices.

The Scopic Solution

Register 2 Vote is an example of a mobile application that lets users register for voting in minutes. Simply click a photo of your driver’s license for identity confirmation. The application will then generate a QR code that can be used to vote at the closest polling station. Using GPS, the location of the nearest polling station can also be shown in the app.

In sailing, the use of data analytics is on the rise. Data analytics helps to make better decisions, resulting in a better performance. With the vast majority of sailors around the world competing in handicap racing, the challenge is to improve their experience by giving data-based support to boost the accuracy and usability of existing systems and rules. Enthusiasm and involvement are frequently undermined by the perception that the rating rules are unfair, so the challenge lies in helping these rules improve.

The Vision Behind the App

The company aimed to provide a robust solution that would gather data through mobile devices. This would be applied in the sport of sailing. Their vision was to use the data to analyse the performance of the boats and as such be able to make better decisions.

The company needed it to be designed specifically to capture such information with additional utility components such as geolocation through a user-friendly interface. They trusted Scopic to turn their idea to life.

Scopic participated in shaping the client’s product and completing an MVP for the SYRF mobile application. Our backend experts created a central database that gathers real-time information from regattas and races that are run through the mobile app. The platform is also able to communicate with ORC databases and other third party applications.
