The Challenge

Action Against Hunger, dedicated to combating hunger and malnutrition, operates globally to provide emergency aid and sustainable solutions to hunger. With a mission to save lives and build resilient communities, they required a robust platform to manage feedback from various channels effectively. 

The Vision  

The goal was to develop a unified communication system to handle feedback from live calls, SMSs, voice messages, WhatsApp, and emails. This system is needed to ensure that all feedback is promptly and accurately routed to the appropriate departments, streamlining the feedback process and improving response times. Action Against Hunger’s extensive work in nearly 50 countries underscored the need for an efficient communication system to support their efforts. 

The Scopic Solution

Scopic collaborated with Action Against Hunger to develop a Twilio Flex platform tailored to their needs. This platform supports multi-channel communication, allowing the head office to efficiently handle feedback from various sources. Built with Azure, JavaScript, Node.js, React Native, ReactJS, and Twilio, it ensures a robust and scalable solution. 

The platform features centralized feedback management, real-time handling, and efficient routing, ensuring every piece of feedback reaches the appropriate destination promptly. This solution significantly enhances the organization’s ability to manage and respond to feedback, improving overall communication and operational efficiency.

    The Challenge

    There are millions of non-emergency calls made to 911 each year. This puts a lot of pressure on dispatchers and amounts to longer response times and higher emergency service costs.  

    Additionally, sorting through the high-risk and less critical cases is challenging for dispatchers, reducing their productivity and efficiency. MD Ally is a public safety telehealth solution that enables dispatchers and first responders to connect non-emergency callers to telehealth and local community resources. 

    The Vision

    MD Ally partners with Public Safety to provide telehealth support to non-critical patients that reach out to 9-1-1 services. The platform gives them easy real-time access to all the resources and services they need. MD Ally also offers live conference calls with audio and video, where patients can talk to a physician, pharmacy, or any other party that can help provide better care. 

    The Scopic Solution

    Scopic helped create the MD Ally application and implement Twilio video, audio, and interactive voice response features. Other areas we helped with:  

    • Encounter notes and documentation for tracking vital patient information 
    • Easy audio, video, and follow-up calls with patients 
    • Escalating issues to 9-1-1 services 
    • Adding a translator, pharmacy, or other parties to the encounter 
    • IVR system to help patients or EMT services get directed to the correct line

    The Scopic Solution

    Scopic extended the Client’s existing CRM platform by implementing a PowerDialer module. Using Twilio cloud communications platform services, we added module communications functionality such as Voice, SMS, and Call forwarding. The UI/UX was implemented using the latest technologies, leveraging popular layout frameworks and a modern visual approach. The dialer UI was rendered as a popup dialog on the screen.

    The Challenge

    While different communication means are widely available today, many companies, including Scopic, still opt against using third-party tools. Effective internal communication allows for easy collaboration and sharing of ideas over chats, calls and video conferences. In addition, a branded company communication tool ensures the security of both company and client data, keeping all the correspondence within the organization.

    The Vision 

    Our CEO Tim Burr, wanted to create a VoIP communication tool that would be developed with custom features by Scopic themselves. He wanted to have an application that would allow for group chats, one-on-one conversations, video/audio calls along with the option of screen sharing.

    The Solution

    Kreo was created by the Scopic team as a VoIP communication tool that’s similar to Skype. It was custom developed to ensure seamless and secure communication among Scopic employees around the world. Built with third-party chat engine Pubnub and call servicer Twilio, the app supports both one-on-one and group chats, voice and video calls, and screen-sharing. It also features an exclusive set of animated emojis to help users demonstrate reactions.

    Scopic teams currently use Kreo for internal discussions; future versions of the app will see the inclusion of clients and other external parties. This app provides our workforce with a more streamlined and secure communication workflow.

They wanted to create a web application full of useful resources and guidance, as well as increase engagement with their target audience and empower more individuals to get their dream jobs.

    The Scopic Solution

    InterviewFocus turned to Scopic to build their custom cloud-based web application platform. The app provides an innovative job interview simulation that includes 12-15 industry specific questions. Our team of web developers leveraged computer vision, real-time media streaming, speech recognition software, video processing and video chat room technology to provide users with a realistic interview experience. The application also offers an evaluation of the user’s soft skills based on their engagement level and speech rate.
    We focused greatly on the system design and usability to exhibit unique software technology with a user-friendly interface. The InterviewFocus web application enables the buying and scheduling of one-on-one consultations, in order to gain more personalized feedback from a specialized coach. And to provide admin users with a detailed overview of all user communication channels, financial and statistical reports, and coupon functionalities, an administration panel was built into the system too.

    The Communications Application Challenge 

    Workflows are internal systems that help optimize many digital processes. The challenge is to create tools that can be easily integrated with existing programs and operating systems.

    The Vision Behind the App

    The company behind Twilio MMS POC envisioned a Twilio-based workflow used in the construction field that allows users to send MMS messages with videos and photos to a Twilio phone number. The goal of the app was to connect channels, backends, and orchestrate interactions with a stateful visual workflow builder. With this idea in mind, the company reached out to Scopic to begin developing the app.

    The Scopic Solution

    Upon sending a message with Twilio MMS POC, it’s distributed to a list of predetermined phone numbers of EHS Directors. Afterwards, when an EHS Director responds to the text, another SMS notifies all other directors that a ticket has been opened and a Director has been assigned. Finally, when the issue is solved, the director in charge sends a final message notifying all other directors that the ticket was solved. Being involved in the discovery, planning, implementation, and testing phases of the project allowed the Scopic team to successfully develop this MMS workflow for the existing application builder Twilio Studio.
